When we all know that the length of a shoe is vital to realizing when it fits or not, the width of the shoe doesn't get just as much consideration. However it must!
The thing is, when your shoe is simply too tight in the area across the balls of your feet, it presses against your ****tarsophalangeal bones - which isn't just distressing, but with time can lead to misalignments as well. Ouch! But however, if the shoes are extremely free, your back heel will lift up up from your shoe, your foot will slip forward plus your foot will force against the front in the shoe. Not good!
Everyone's feet are not the same, even though most shoe companies offer only a standard breadth, Birkenstock supply their footbed in two different widths – normal and slim.
It is then a whole lot less difficult to make sure you hold the proper shoe dimension in span and breadth, so that your foot is kept in position at its widest point, without constricting it. As foot dimensions changes during the period of the time as a result of stress (true truth!) it's also essential to make sure you have sufficient area around the aspects when attempting them on!
