#tweeted President Biden - 2022-07-26 gas prices #prices #typo #wrote
President Biden continued to brag about gas prices falling by a small amount on Twitter Monday morning, to the mockery of users.
"For American families looking for a little more breathing room, these savings matter," Biden’s presidential account tweeted. The tweet also included a graphic informing followers that "At current prices, the average driver will spend $35 less per month for one peson [sic]" or "$70 less per month for a family with two cars than they would if gas prices stayed at their peak." Washington Examiner and Daily Signal contributor Nicole Russell tweeted, "But I thought you had nothing to do with gas prices?" Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy wrote, "In other words, Americans are paying over $100 more a month per ‘peson’ to fill up their gas tanks than when Biden took office." Washington Examiner reporter Andrew Kerr noted, "The figures in Biden's tweet this morning assume the average ‘peson’ is consuming 50 gallons of gas a month per vehicle. 2 cars = 100 gallons of gas = $70 in ‘savings’ a month for the average American family, according to Biden's methodology." "Now do prices compared to a year ago, snake oil salesman," Lone Conservative founder Kassy Dillon tweeted. Biden had previously suggested that rising gas prices and inflation rates were caused by a "Putin Price Hike" due to the war in Ukraine. Since prices have fallen after their peak in June while the war rages on, the administration has started taken credit for the average price for a gallon of gas falling below $5. However, most states continue to pay more than $4 a gallon for gas, with the average price as of Monday at $4.36. When Biden took office on January 20, 2021, the average cost was $2.39 a gallon. Many users also called out the blatant typo in the graphic, using "peson" instead of "person" in an official government tweet. BIDEN MUST ‘STOP THE FALL IN GASOLINE PRICES,’ SET $5 GALLON MINIMUM TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE: BLOOMBERG OP-ED "For one 'peson'? That's great. I hate paying too much for a peson! Peson inflation is a bane on the nation's economy!" Washington Times reporter Mike Glenn tweeted. Townhall.com editor Rebecca Downs wrote, "Who spellchecked this…? What is a ‘peson?’" "How many people were involved in planning, designing, editing and sending this poster? Minimum of five, probably a lot more. Yet it still went out with a glaring typo. Tells you a lot about how this White House is staffed and run," tweeted Hans Mahncke, co-host of "Truth Over News" on EpochTV. 9102082 8914642 6746248 6750795 8533923 6363608 3124572 2741141 1124393 3206265 273574 504574 6708408 8322049 8568333 9291830 5899969 4037292 3459105 2971871 8670355 923214 8857445 3874502 7987924 7847464 6762334 7754147 8967089 9612714 4808220 8439824 6509356 7019961 5982124 3278266 6894552 6712788 7214498 2961316 1301223 641933 6064882 1836239 1712680 7485851 7222035 7281725 2192660 890504 3040159 9256564 984317 1841299 4821429 3602107 1410387 5047605 4077016 5199377 2042125 1654472 5469589 9579170 9102107 3135840 5670039 4067663 6576799 3719988 4837524 2064224 1994554 1177623 9946126 6555599 8353279 8323900 1680008 1449271 5161751 84240 9099804 1816289 4049391 3444665 8830450 6654699 6936808 167070 7949320 251084 7219136 4572944 2327641 734131 6933930 1274286 4622381 6930509 5387303 166881 8652156 7098642 7201744 8551933 9362658 5638998 259846 2720642 109069 6381469 6501279 3833830 1468161 3537909 1064464 5468450 8311442 3910979 7707487 2646948 4341500 6461229 1018064 4706321 5814567 7818575 8337638 6853397 8682007 4835114 6913313 7740400 5850977 7771524 4203259 2912334 3790854 217903 1837627 6464118 208448 4325164 6185613 5761809 7001379 2468406 1006811 6554162 5220975 8903378 142501 8336089 1244612 7541339 735571 2297493 5896080 4408437 9928598 6699588 725575 5904355 524905 7037185 8155099 6444668 3558228 808499 |
